RYH Pottery is having a Studio Sale during the month of November.  We will be open every day from 8:00 am until 5:00 pm - please call 985-8530 to make an appointment.  All pottery are 10% off of the marked price and "seconds" are 50% off.

2011 Volcano Pottery Sale

 The 3rd Annual Volcano Pottery Sale will be held on June 11 & 12 at Hale Hoomana on Volcano Art Center's Niaulani campus in Volcano Village.  More information can be found here.

2010 Volcano Village Artists Hui's Open Studio Art Sale 

The 24th annual Open Studio Art Sale will be held in Volcano Village on November 26, 27 & 28 and  runs from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. for all three days.

I will be joining several artists at the new Hale Ho'omana Educational Center at the Niaulani Campus of the Volcano Art Center located at 19-4074 Old Volcano Road near the corner of Kalanikoa Road (map).

I have a good supply of functional pottery including bowls, sake sets, serving platters, plates, mugs, vases and planters.

Maps to the artists studios will be available at several businesses in Volcano Village.  I am not listed on the map since I decided to participate at the last minute but will be at studio #8.

2010 Volcano Pottery Sale

 The 2nd Annual Volcano Pottery Sale will be held on Saturday, June 12 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at the Volcano Garden Arts gallery in Volcano Village.  Please join Emily Herb and Ron Hanatani as they feature their latest creations for sale.  The following is a brief bio of Emily Herb.

Emily Herb was born in the Midwest, but has lived in diverse areas such as Utah, Alaska, Arizona, Seattle and Hawai’i. Her work has always been inspired by the natural world, and by birds in particular.   Since moving to Hawai'i in 1998, her work has focused mainly on birds and plants found in the Islands.

Emily and her husband moved to Volcano Village in 2007, where she set up the pottery studio that she now works in.  Just a few miles from Hawai’i Volcanos National Park, Volcano Village is located in the native rainforest at 3800' elevation.  The forest is home to several native bird species that are still fairly common, including the bright red 'apapane, whose varied songs can be heard throughout the day from the pottery studio, thus the name of her studio, ‘Apapane Pottery.  More information and a photo gallery can be found at:  ApapanePottery.com

 

 

 

 

 

 The Artful Taste of Volcano

 Volcano artists and artisans are featured in an exhibition of tableware and related treasures at the Volcano Art Center Gallery from April 24 to June 1, 2010.  Opening reception on Saturday, April 24 from 5 to 7 pm.
